Admissions Procedures
Thank you for your interest in River's Edge Christian Academy! We are excited that you want to learn more about our school. Please follow these steps for a smooth admissions process. If you have any questions, contact us at admissions@riversedgeca.com.
STEP 1 - Statement of Faith
Please review our Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Statement of Primary Beliefs. Our administrative staff, faculty, and families agree to these fundamentals, and we look forward to partnering with more likeminded families!
STEP 2 - Request More Information
We would love to send you more information about our school. By providing your contact information, we can send you details of our tuition, policies, schedules, curriculum, and more!
We would love to show you around our school during your one-one-one tour. There will be plenty of time to answer any questions you may have while touring the facility. We also welcome you at our next Prospective Parent Information Meeting. This is a great meeting where you'll really get to know our school and the heart of our administrators. Each meeting will have a Q&A session at the end of the presentation. We recommend it for all incoming families!
STEP 4 - Apply
Fill out an application for your future RECA student. We recommend using a computer for this process. The application usually takes 30-45 minutes. At the end of the application, you'll be prompted to pay registration fees. Once the payment is processed, you may then submit the application. If you have any questions during this process, please contact us at 865-201-1192 or info@riversedgeca.com. Please note: Children entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before August 15. Any child six years of age on or before September 30 is eligible for first grade, provided they have attended an approved kindergarten program. No child is eligible for first grade without attending an approved kindergarten program.
STEP 5 - Complete Your Checklist
Once your application has been submitted, a checklist will be assigned to your student. Promptly work your way through the list, providing any relevant documents or information we may need for the enrollment process. Expect to see items such as: a pastoral or church reference letter, birth certificate, report cards, etc.
STEP 6 - Admissions Testing
The next step in the application process is an admissions test. The office will contact you to set up an admissions testing appointment. This test will help us ensure that our school is the best fit for your child's academic needs.
STEP 7 - Family Interview
We look forward to meeting each family during our family interview. This is a time for the school to get to know your family better, meeting each member of the household. This is usually the time we set aside for placement testing, as well.
STEP 8 - Admissions Decision
Once your family interview and checklists are complete, you can expect to receive an admissions decision. The enrollment process usually takes around 3-4 weeks. During our busy enrollment season, we appreciate your patience as the process can take 2-3 weeks longer than usual.
