Leslie was born and raised in East Tennessee. She received a Christian college education at Freed-Hardeman University with a Bachelor of Science in Arts and Humanities (K-8). After graduation, she moved back home and began teaching third grade at Christenberry Elementary, an inner-city school in Knoxville. Her next ten years were spent teaching K-1 at Norris Elementary in Anderson County. Throughout those years, she was blessed to build so many great relationships with parents and students. She also married her high school sweetheart, Jeremy, during that time. Together, they enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. After ten years of marriage and many prayers, God blessed them with their son, Tate. Leslie began Tate’s life as a stay-at-home-mother. However, as the months went by, she missed teaching a great deal. The Lord lead her to the opportunity to teach part time at RECA. It was the perfect mix of practicing her love of teaching and quality time with her baby! One of her favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 3:5, 6 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
